The Mainworks is a youth cultural group established in 1990 by a group of music enthusiasts from Temasek Junior College and Tampines Junior College upon graduation. The group is subsequently adopted by Siglap South Community Centre, a renowned Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts. Our vision is to become a house for performing arts. Our mission is to promote local song compositions in the hope that local compositions can become a mainstream in the local music scene. The Mainworks had our roots in Xin Yao, a genre of songs that is unique to Singapore. Since establishment in 1990, the cultural activities we have organized ranged from song writing to singing and drama.
