Event Description
The Merku Udayam 2026 Flea Market promotes the spirit of reusing and recycling pre-loved items. It is a resident centric event that allows residents to set up their mini booth to sell, trade or give away items of value that they do not require to someone else in need.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents residing within West Coast-Jurong West GRC
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Applicants must be present at the event; checks will be conducted
- Applications are strictly non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and sub-letting of booths is not permitted.
- Please note that each user can only apply for ONE booth per session.
Article of Sales
TMerku Udayam 2026 Flea Market is dedicated to promoting sustainability and embracing the value of reusing and repurposing everyday goods. To align with this objective, items sold should not be entirely new - this event is intended to encourage the sale of pre-loved and second-hand goods.
Items for sale must fall under one of the following categories:
1. Pre-loved items - Gently used and still in good condition
2. Unused purchased items - Bought but never used
3. Handmade items - Crafted by the seller
Note: Retail and wholesale products are not allowed for sale
Items that are prohibited include:
- Food and beverages
- Compact Discs (CDs), Video CDs (VCDs), CD-ROMs, DVD, Blu-Ray or any goods, which infringe on intellectual property rights
- Multi-level marketing products and services
- Insurance or financial services and assistance
- Religious, cultural sensitivity/ethical services
- Services that involve physical contact
- Acts of preaching deemed by the Organising Committee
- Torn or damaged items
- Contraband items such as cigarettes, alcohol, flammable gas/liquids, sharp objects/weapons that may cause harm to self and others
Setup and Dismantling of Booth
Each applicant will be allocated a designated space which includes 1 table and 2 chairs for the duration of the event. Applicants are responsible for both setting up and dismantling booths. Setup can commence from 12.00pm on the day of the event and must be completed by 6.00pm. Packing up is only allowed after the event has concluded, unless stated otherwise. Applicants must dispose of all unwanted items and ensure that no rubbish is left in the stall area.
Terms and Conditions:
Any disputes that arise at the Flea Market should be resolved directly between the Applicants and their customers. If an Applicant is deemed to violate any rules or regulations set by the Organising Committee, the Committee reserves the right to immediately dismiss the Applicant from the event.
The Organising Committee is not liable for any damages, loss of property, or personal belongings that occur during the event. Additionally, the Organising Committee reserves the right to change and/or cancel the event date or venue due to unforeseen circumstances. The decision of the Organising Committee is final.
