When Leanne inherits a lacquer box from her late grandmother, Maggie Su – the legendary 1940s cabaret star – she is drawn into a web of half-truths and hidden histories in the iconic streets of Tiong Bahru.
To open the box is to follow the trail…

1. The Experience
Step into a living story. This immersive, theatrical walking tour brings Tiong Bahru’s history to life through captivating performances by live actors. As you wander through the estate, the narrative unfolds around you—turning the neighbourhood itself into your stage.
2. Duration & Physical Requirements
The tour lasts approximately one hour and is entirely on foot. While the pace is gentle and there is no strenuous activity, you will be standing or walking for the full duration. Please keep this in mind when booking your ticket.
3. Family Friendly
This is a family friendly experience. Children below the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
4. What to Bring
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and supportive footwear. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella and a bottle of water to stay prepared and hydrated.
5. In the Event of Wet Weather
If wet weather prevents the tour from proceeding, the organisers will get in touch with you to reschedule to another slot.
