Pasir Ris East CC IAEC Tamil Skills Festival 2026

Registration Fee: $5 per pax
(registration fees are non-refundable after registration)
Eligibility: Participants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents who fall within the specified age categories.
(The committee reserves the right to reject any participant who does not meet the eligibility requirements, and no refunds shall be issued in such instances.)

Special Gift: 
The first 25 participants to register on 19 July 2026 wil receive a special gift. First come, first served. 

Refreshments: 
Refreshments will be provided for all registered participants. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be available. 
All food served at this event is halal-certified. Please indicate your child's food preference during registration.   

Category 1: Primary 1–2 (Ages 7–8) சின்னஞ்சிறு கதைகள் – Tiny Stories

1. Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) only.
2. Participants must be in Primary 1 or Primary 2 (Ages 7–8).
3. Performance must be in Tamil and shall not exceed 4 minutes.
4. Story must be fully memorised. No reading from scripts or written materials is allowed.
5. Simple props or actions are permitted. 

Category 2: Primary 3–4 (Ages 9–10) கதை களம் – Story Arena

1. Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) only.
2. Participants must be in Primary 3 or Primary 4 (Ages 9–10).
3. Performance must be in Tamil and shall not exceed 4 minutes.
4. Story must be fully memorised. No reading from scripts or written materials is allowed.
5. Simple props or actions are permitted.

Category 3: Primary 5–6 (Ages 11–12) மொழி மாற்ற மேதைகள் – Translation Genius

1. Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) only.
2. Participants must be in Primary 5 or Primary 6 (Ages 11–12).
3. Participants are required to translate English proverbs into Tamil.
4. A sample PDF of 50 proverbs will be shared with all participants after registration closes.
5. No books, dictionaries, or electronic devices are allowed during the task.
6. The written task duration is 20 minutes. Worksheets will be collected after the task and returned before the stage presentation.
7. Participants will read their translated proverbs on stage. Stage presentation shall not exceed 3 minutes.
8. The competition consists of two rounds — a Preliminary Round and a Final Round.
9. The top 3 or top 5 participants from the Preliminary Round will advance to the Final Round.
10. In the Final Round, selected participants will translate a proverb displayed on screen.
