Event Description
Date: 17 Oct 2026, Sat
Time: 9.30am-12.30pm
Venue: Classroom #03-06
$5 per pax (Light refreshments will be provided)
Trainer: EK Lok, Evolutia Studio Pte Ltd
What to bring: A smartphone with a fully charged battery
Open to Singaporeans & PRs residing in Nanyang
This 3 hour hands on workshop helps everyday smartphone users take much better photos without buying any extra equipment. Participants will learn how their phone camera actually works, how to frame a shot that looks intentional, and how to read and shape the light around them. The session is practical from start to finish. Every topic is followed by a short shooting exercise using the participant's own phone, so people leave with photos they have taken and improved during the session. The workshop closes with a live demonstration of AI photo editing tools, so participants can polish their images with a few taps. No prior photography knowledge is needed.
Overall Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
• Operate the key controls on their own smartphone camera with confidence, including zoom, focus, exposure, aspect ratio and orientation.
• Apply camera angles, shot sizes and composition principles to make ordinary subjects look more interesting.
• Use the Rule of Thirds and depth of field to direct attention to the main subject.
• Identify hard and soft light, and choose or shape the light for a more flattering photo.
• Use simple reflectors and catch light to improve portraits without any studio equipment.
• Adapt to difficult lighting situations where the light cannot be changed.
• Enhance and clean up their photos using AI powered editing tools on their phone.
