PA to Expand “Neighbourhood Kakis” Initiative to Keep Seniors Active and Connected to the Community
Empowering seniors to contribute in simple but meaningful ways
First piloted in 2024 as part of PA's efforts to expand community participation, the Neighbourhood Kakis initiative enables seniors aged 60 and above, as well as young seniors aged 50 to 59, to take on simple, flexible neighbourhood tasks that can be completed within an hour. These include delivering food to seniors living alone, packing and distributing groceries to low-income families, and restocking community fridges. Received a small token for each completed task.
