Title: Banana Tree to Banana cake: Learn & Bake
Description: Ever wondered where your banana cake begins? Get a simple introduction to the banana plant, from how it grows in Singapore to how its fruit ripens, and see how it ends up in your favourite bakes. Then get hands-on in the kitchen to make a moist, fragrant banana cake using ripe bananas, and take home a slice to enjoy.
Activities:
- Short talk on the banana plant: its parts (Stem, leaves, flower, fruit), how it grows, and fun facts.
- Hands-on baking: mash, mix and bake a siomple banana cake, with tips on swaps (e.g, less sugar, wholemeal flour, or nuts).
- Tasting session: ebnjoy a freshly baked slice, ideally served on a banana leaf.

Title: Nasi Ulam: Herbs, Rice & Flavour
Description: Discover the fragrant world of Nasi Ulam, a traditional Malay and Peranakan herb rice. Get a simple introduction to the herbs that give this dish its fresh, aromatic flavour, and see how many of them can be grown in Singapore. Then get hands-on preparing your own Nasi Ulam and enjoy it together.
Activities:
- Short talk on Nasi Ulam: Its origins, and the herbs used.
- Hands-on preparation: finely slice the herbns, toast the grated coconut (kerisik), and toss everything with rice, with options for toppings
- Tasting session: enjoy your freshly made Nasi Ulam
