Event FAQ
June workshop
Workshop 1
14 June 2026
Title: Transplanting
Not all plants grow at the same speed! Today, we're moving our 'splinter' (bok choy) into its permanent home in the planter. Before they can settle in, we'll be deweeding the area to make sure no 'uninvited guests' steal their nutrients. We'll finish byt watering our greens to help them recover from the move and grow strong.
Activities:
- Transplanting Bok Choy
- Root Protection: Learning the "hole method" to avoid hurting delicate young roots.
Workshop 2
27 June 2026
Title: Harvest and Turn over
To fix our poor soil long-term, we are processing kitchen waste and using the power of worms to create a high-performance organic fertilizer that strengthens our plants from the roots up.
Activities:
- Blending Eggshells: Milling dried shells into a fine powder to provide instant calcium for "strong bones" in our vegetables.
- Vermicast Integration: Adding nutrient-rich worm castings to our compost mix to introduce beneficial microbes and boost plant immunity.
