*My Grandfather’s Stories of Seah Eu Chin and Tan Seng Poh* by Shawn Seah

Author and speaker Shawn Seah presents a free public talk at Tiong Bahru CC on the life and times of the King of Gambier and Pepper, Seah Eu Chin, and prominent community leader Tan Seng Poh. A direct descendant of Seah Eu Chin, Shawn reflects on these family stories and their connections to streets in Tiong Bahru, such as Eu Chin Street, Seng Poh Road, and Seng Poh Lane. Blending memory with history, the talk brings to life these pioneers' contributions, values, and legacy. Through this talk, audiences will gain a deeper appreciation of early Singapore while being inspired to explore their own family histories. This talk in English in conjunction with NHB's Heritage Activation Node initiative at Tiong Bahru and is suitable for audiences of all ages. Join us for an engaging and meaningful journey into Singapore’s past.
