RULES & REGULATIONS
 

1. “Marymount Annual Bowling Challenge 2026” is a bowling competition organized by the Marymount Community Sports Network (“the Organizers”) and is open to participation for all residents and age groups. Participants under the age of 18 are required to seek permission from their parents or legal guardian prior to their participation in the competition.

2. Only entries with complete and accurate information will be accepted and be deemed eligible for the Competition. To qualify for the competition, ALL participants are to submit their REGISTRATION via Onepa.gov.sg. Any ONE of the bowlers from the team is also required to pay a non-refundable REGISTRATION FEE of $60.00 via Onepa.gov.sg ONLY. Limited to 20 teams only.

3. Each participant will bowl a series of 3 games. Each team will consist of 4 bowlers bowling in the team on the actual day.

4. 10 pins handicap per game will be awarded to each female participant.

5. 100 pins per game per bowler will be awarded to the team should there be any absentee.

6. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams and High Series for Male and Female. Please refer to Awards Table for more information.

7. All bowlers should observe the house rules of the bowling alley. For technical rules, please refer to “Technical Rules”.

8. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash. The Organizers reserve the right to substitute, add or alter any item on the list of prizes offered.

9. Without prejudice to any other provision of the Terms and Conditions, the decision of the Organizers on the prize to be awarded to any winner is final, and no correspondence pertaining to the decision will be entertained.

10. Each participant fully understands and accepts that and the Organizers shall not be liable in any way whatsoever for any loss, damage, liability or expenditure, howsoever suffered or incurred by him/her, in connection with the competition, including any loss, damage, liability or expenditure suffered or incurred as a result of the exercise of any of the rights referred to in these Terms and Conditions.

11. The Organizers reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations of this competition, without prior
     notification to the parties involved.

12. Awards:

1. Format of Play
   1. A team must field four bowlers with the team composition criteria as stipulated in point 3 of the Technical Rules and Regulations to compete on tournament day.
   2. Each bowler shall bowl three games per session.
   3. All games will be bowled over a pair of lanes with each team alternating their assigned pair of lanes.
   4. 10 pins handicap per game will be awarded to each female participant.
   5. 100 pins per game per bowler will be awarded to the team should there be any absentee in the team.
   6. Projector score/automatic scoring device will be in operation.
   7. Printed score sheets shall be maintained indicating the pin-fall on each ball so a frame by frame audit may be made.
   8. All players are to check their scores on the scoreboard after every game. They are to inform the Organizing Committee Official immediately if there is any error. No amendment can be made after the scores are recorded. The Organizing Committee Official / Superbowl will have the final say in the scoring.

1. 1. Provision to Format of Play
      1. If a bowler is injured (or is unable to continue play for whatsoever reasons) at any time during any game and is unable to continue, the score of that bowler in that game will be as at the frame stopped.  The remaining game(s) if any will be awarded a blind score of 100 pin falls per game.
      2. No substitution will be allowed, and the team will have to bowl subsequent games with a blind score of 100 pin falls for the bowler who is unable to continue play.

1. 2. Slow Bowling
      1. Bowlers shall be ready to bowl when it is their turn and shall not delay the start of their approach or delivery if a lane immediately adjacent to them on the left and right side is clear.
      2. If a bowler does not observe the above procedure, it may be construed as slow bowling. The Superbowl / Organizing Committee Official shall warn the bowler with a white card for the first offence (no penalty) and a yellow card for the second offence (no penalty).  For the third offence and each succeeding offence thereafter in a block of games, the bowler shall be shown the red card and shall be given a zero pin-fall for the frame.

1. 3. Bowling on wrong lanes
      1. When the lead-off bowler bowls on the wrong lane and the error is discovered before another bowler has bowled, a dead ball is declared, and the bowler will be required to re-bowl on the correct lane.  When more than one bowler has bowled on the wrong lane, the game shall be completed without adjustments and the next game shall be started on the correctly scheduled lane.

1. 4. Tiebreaker
      1. In the event of a tie at the end, the team will determine the tiebreaker with the least difference between the highest and lowest game bowled in the series (game). Should the difference be tied, the highest and the second lowest game will be utilized until a tie is broken.

2. Walkover
   1. Teams / Individual Category Participants shall concede a walkover if they fail to register and be present at the scheduled time of the competition.

3. Disqualification
   1. Teams/ Individual Category Participants may be disqualified in the event of submitting ineligible participant(s) or unruly conduct of participant(s).
   2. The Organizing Committee Officials reserve the right to disqualify team/participant at their discretion.
   3. Every registered bowler MUST bring along his/her valid Singapore identity card, valid passport, student pass with NRIC number or valid driving license for verification at every match. Failing to provide will result he/she is not allowed to compete in the competition.

4. Dress Code
   All bowlers are required to be properly dressed for the competition. If in the opinion of the Organizing Committee Officials a bowler is not properly and appropriately dressed, he/she may not be permitted to bowl. No shorts (Men only) and sleeveless T-shirts are allowed.
