Event Description
This is a free, hands-on programme that teaches students and young adults real computing skills through Linux — the operating system that quietly powers most of the modern world. Participants learn by doing: typing real commands at a Linux terminal, understanding how files, programmes, and the internet actually work beneath the surface of everyday apps, writing small scripts to automate useful tasks, and collaborating on code using Git, the worldwide standard for software development.
By giving young residents access to foundational technical skills that are in high demand at universities, government agencies, banks, and tech companies worldwide, the programme opens doors that are otherwise hard to find. It is especially valuable for students and young adults who are curious about technology but have never had the chance to go beyond smartphones and apps. Participants will only need to bring their laptops for the session.
