Event Description
To celebrate Singapore's 61st National Day and foster community spirit within the Geylang Serai neighbourhood, Geylang Serai CCMC in collaboration with Novo Winds will be organising a musical flashmob at Haig Road Market & Food Centre. The performance will feature the wind ensemble Novo Winds performing The Road Ahead.
The event is designed as a surprise performance for members of the public. It will begin with what appears to be a lone busker, before gradually building into a full symphonic wind band as musicians positioned amongst market patrons reveal themselves one by one. Ms Diana Pang, Grassroots Adviser to Marine Parade Braddell Heights GRC GROs (Geylang Serai), will also be in attendance and participating in the event.
The performance is expected to draw curiosity and participation from shoppers, diners, stallholders, and families in the area, culminating in a full-band performance. We anticipate a moderate gathering of members of the public as the performance progresses.
