Event Description

Defenders of the Wild Family Day Camp — Explore, Protect, and Connect with Nature Together!


Join us for an exciting day of hands-on wildlife conservation and environmental discovery! Defenders of the Wild Family Day Camp is an interactive programme designed for families with children ages 4 and above, introducing them to wildlife conservation and environmental protection. The camp emphasises how families can help protect wildlife and maintain healthy ecosystems through hands-on conservation activities as part of PWSB's Project Blue Wave initiative.


What to Expect:
  • A fun, hands-on introduction to wildlife conservation and coastal stewardship
— Jump straight into the action with a coastal clean-up challenge, learning about marine pollution and what it takes to restore and protect our precious beach habitats. Prizes to be won for the most amount of trash collected!
  • A guided visit to the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre where families get to see real wildlife rehabilitation work up close — Go behind the scenes of Singapore's only wildlife rescue centre and witness firsthand how injured, orphaned, and rescued animals are cared for.
  • Get creative with enrichment-making activities designed to brighten the lives of rescued animals — Work together as a family to craft puzzle feeders and other enrichment items for the resident animals at ACRES, making a real and tangible difference to their wellbeing.
Perfect for adventurous families and young wildlife heroes! Come explore the world of wildlife rescue and conservation, take on the coastal clean-up challenge, and bring home a heart full of memories from an action-packed day out in nature.

* Lunch and Transportation(PAssion Wave @ Sembawang to ACRES and ACRES to Chua Chu Kang MRT) will be provided.


Terms & Conditions:
  • For families and anyone you consider family — Whether it's parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, or close family friends, all are welcome to join in on the fun!
  • For sign-ups with children aged 4 and above, mandatory parent/guardian (21 and above) supervision is required throughout the session.
  • Participants must wear sports attire and covered footwear — As the day involves outdoor coastal clean-up activities, please dress comfortably and appropriately for an active day outdoors.

Refund/Reschedule:
There will be no refund or reschedule if the participant is unable to attend the event or due to inclement weather.

If you are attending an activity at PAssion Wave, your photos, videos and/or sound recordings may be taken. If you do not wish to appear in any photos, videos and/or sound recordings for our publicity materials, please notify us prior to the commencement of the activity

Tentative Programme Outline:
0930: Gathering and attendance taking
1000 - 1100: Introduction & Activity briefing
1130 - 1230: Coastal clean-up challenge at the beach
1230 - 1330: Lunch break
1330 - 1430: Bus over to ACRES
1430 - 1630: Visit to ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre — observe wildlife rehabilitation work and enrichment-making activity
1630 - 1700: Closing and admin, Bus to CCK MRT

*In the event of inclement weather, the programme timing is subject to change. Participants will be notified accordingly

Items to bring along:
  • Water bottle
  • Sports attire(Long pants/tights advisable)
  • Covered shoes
  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses & sunscreen if required)
  • Change of attire if needed

How to get to PAssion Wave @ Sembawang:
Bus 882 from Opposite Sembawang MRT Station Bus-stop:
1. Walk towards Opposite Sembawang MRT Station Bus-stop by traffic lights.
2. Board Bus service 882 and alight 8 stops later Opposite Jalan Jangus
3.10 minutes’ walk to end of Jalan Mempurong via Andrews Ave
4. PAssion Wave @ Sembawang is located at the end of the road (campsite is entered through brown gate)

By Car or Taxi:
Our address is 60 Jalan Mempurong, Singapore 759058
From Sembawang Road turn to Andrews Ave, drive to the end of Jalan Mempurong. (Reference point for PAssion Wave @ Sembawang Outlet will be Sembawang Road, near Sembawang Park).

ALL PAssion Wave outlets are closed on all Mondays and Public Holidays.
