One of its flagship programmes is Bulan Bahasa @ Keat Hong, a volunteer-led event supported by the Bulan Bahasa Committee and aligned with the overarching theme, “Cita. Citra. Cinta.” Now in its 13th year, the event continues to promote and preserve the Malay language, culture and traditions.

Celebrating our love for the Malay language and its role in shaping our identity, the theme is brought to life through a vibrant mix of activities and performances.

The programme will also feature interactive pantun sessions with Shahril Samri, where residents can come together to create pantuns, as well as a storytelling session by Siti Suzanah, author of the bilingual book Di Mana Bobo?

Residents can also take part in activities such as khat calligraphy, fridge magnet-making, henna art, balloon sculpting, traditional games and interactive floor activities.

Through these different expressions of language and culture, we hope to encourage residents across generations to appreciate, use and keep Bahasa Melayu alive in their everyday lives.
