Swarna began her Bharatanatyam training under Acharya Dr.S.Divyasena from Chennai. She is a recipient of the “National Scholarships For Young Artists” from the Government of India apart from being a graded artiste of Doordarshan. As an active performer, Swarna has performed in some prestigious dance and music festivals in India and in Singapore including Kalaa Utsavam 2021 at Esplanade. Swarna also began her Kathak training under Guru Mulla Afsar Khan at SIFAS and is currently learning under Darshana Muley. She also attends master classes conducted by Guru Shankar Kandasamy, TFA, Malaysia. After serving as a dance instructor in various schools in India and Singapore for over ten years, she is currently the Director/Dance Instructor at Swarna Kala Mandir Singapore. Swarna was also awarded the Sunil Kothari Dance Jorunalism scholarship by Apsaras Arts this year.
