Al-Ahdaf Academy (AAA) was formed in 2013 with the main purpose to provide tuition for Madrasah students in Arabic subjects. AAA has since seen students’ performances improve significantly over the years. In 2015, AAA launched its translation department, with the first project being a translation service provided to Channel News Asia for an interview with the current Egyptian president.
To further complement its tuition programme, AAA conducted an Arabic language workshop in local Madrasah institutions. Presently, AAA also conducts weekly, conversational Arabic classes for adults. Most students come in with no basics of the Arabic language, but they have now graduated and are conversing with confidence in Arabic. Here in Al-Ahdaf Academy, relevant language learning has become an important component of our Arabic language course. The Arabic textbooks used are specially designed in Singapore context, therefore making it applicable and enjoyable.
Their courses are also registered under Skillsfuture Singapore as non-wsq Programmer.
Their graduates have initiated a monthly gathering called Arabic Language Society. They come together for an Interactive event each month to practice this beautiful language. We hope to open to the public once proven successful.
Their latest class was for children called Arabic as a 3rd language .All projects, programmes, and initiatives thus far have been carried out with the vision to create an Arabic-speaking community in Singapore
