Throughout the course, students will learn how to read notes on the fingerboard, understand fingerboard tuning, and be introduced to major scale solfege. They will also gain knowledge of rhythm, chords, and how to recognize chord characters. In addition, the course covers simple strumming and plucking techniques, melody playing, and fitting chords to a song by ear. Finger exercises will also be included to improve dexterity. Students are required to bring a ukulele and a notebook.
