Metropolitan Young Men’s Christian Association Singapore was incorporated in 1947. The company is registered with Registrar of Society on 4 February 1963, gazetted as a Charity and recognised as an Institute of Public Character.
Metropolitan YMCA (MYMCA) previously known as the Chinese YMCA, leads positive community transformation with a special focus on children and youths. Our activities include physical and continuing education, youth and community outreach programmes. We also provide hospitality services such as hostel and apartment accommodation, food and beverage services including conference facilities as support services.
MYMCA is a member of the National Council of Social Services, a corporate member of the People's Association, an associate member of the National Youth Council, the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, and the National Council of Churches in Singapore. Internationally, MYMCA is part of the World Alliance of YMCAs, Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs, as well as an active member of the YMCA World Urban Network.

Speech and drama is an important building block to any child's development. Speech and Drama is a powerful way for children to learn the building blocks of effective communication. Speech and Drama enables children to develop the 5 Cs: Confidence, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.

Fear of public speaking and anxiety and being the centre of attention is common among many adults, especially those who did not have opportunities at a young age to challenge these natural fears. Speech and Drama helps children to express themselves in a safe environment without feeling judged.

One of the greatest assets we can develop in our children is strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively communicate with people from all walks of life. Interpersonal skills include verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, positive teamwork and conflict resolution.

This class includes voice and speech exercises, improvisation, exposure to literature and fun drama journeys where learners collaborate to come up with a drama performance. Join us at the end of the programme for a confident performance of your little ones.
