Course Description
The coming of age of 3D printing or otherwise known as additive manufacturing has transformed and revolutionized technology across many industries. Many industries are able to efficiently and effectively reduce waste as 3D printing offers environmentally friendly options for production. The usage of 3D printing in academic institutions is noticed to have play a part in increasing their confidence in new technologies through a fun and engaging way and enhancing performance. In the near future, every home can own a 3D printer and even prints objects limited only to your own imagination.
Requirements and Remarks:
1) The class will be for 13 years old and above. 2) Participants are required to bring their own Laptop computer with a mouse. 3) Participants Participants will learn the concept of 3D printing, the Do's and Don'ts in 3D printing including the methodology, structure, common materials used and specifications of a Fused Deposition Modeling Printer. Participants should know by the end of the class on: 1) How to operate a Fused Deposition Modeling Printer 2) Design a personalized keychain tag using CAD, print it and take home. 3) The steps to print a 3D lithophone from a photo.
