Course Description

This hands-on course teaches students to build mechanical automata toys using everyday materials like cardboard, wooden skewers, and straws. Students learn how cam mechanisms work by creating off-centre wheels that push followers up and down, bringing their characters to life through rotational motion. The programme covers frame construction, cam design, axle mounting, and motion transfer systems. Students develop engineering and design thinking skills while solving real mechanical challenges. This course makes STEAM learning engaging and practical through creative prototype development and iterative design processes.
