Kayaking (Canoeing) was introduced to Aik Lee since young during his secondary school days. He found his calling for Kayaking and started to participate and lead numerous Kayaking expedition for example, expeditions around Singapore and towards Southern Island and Batam. Additionally, Aik Lee has overseas experience such as Round Pangkor Island from Lumut (Malaysia) and Malaysia Kota Tinggi River from Sembawang. In Aik Lee early stages of life, he was also an competitive K1 Kayaker whom have been crowned the champion for K1 (500 meter) in SCF Canoe Open for 2 consecutive year. In 1988, with the culmination of a lifelong love affair with the sport, Aik Lee decided to be a Canoe Instructor @ Sembawang Canoe Club conducting Novice and Proficiency courses. In 2001, he converted his old qualifications and obtained his Level 2 Coaching Certification from Singapore Canoe Federation and have since been coaching till date. Aik Lee believes that Kayaking is a great sport for all ages and everybody will fall in love with this sport after being exposed to it!

Designed for kayakers with a minimum SCF 2-Star Certification or higher, this course focuses on developing essential self-rescue skills for capsize situations. Participants will learn safe and effective rolling techniques under expert guidance in a supportive and structured environment.

This course emphasizes experiential learning, where instructors facilitate skill development alongside personal growth. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, one-on-one coaching, and group drills to build confidence and control in various kayaking scenarios.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Perform the hip flick exercise — the foundation of an effective kayak roll
• Understand and apply correct body posture and rolling technique to prevent injury during self-directed practice
• Demonstrate the four key steps of a kayak roll
• Achieve a consistent roll success rate of over 90% with assistance and paddle correction

Whether you're new to rolling or looking to refine your skills, this course enhances your water safety, control, and overall kayaking competence.
