Course Description

Originally used in war, the Japanese drum or 'taiko' is a common feature in Japanese classical or folk musicals. Power and energetic, it is performed with a display of physical feats and discipline. The course will cover the different types of Japanese Drums as well as other supporting percussion instruments with proper demonstration and supervision. Participants will gradually learn how to play in a group, either in a pure percussion group or fused with other instruments.
