Darshan Fine Arts was founded in 2014 with the primary intention of nurturing dedicated Bharathanatyam enthusiasts. At Darshan Fine Arts, dance education not only involves rigorous training in the theory and practice of Bharathanatyam. Students are also expected to take part in community events to give back to society. These events also give students an opportunity to work with performers from different backgrounds and better appreciate Singapore's diverse multi-ethnic fabric. Darshan Fine Arts has a total of 60 students ranging from age 5 to 40, a rigorous 6-grade dance curriculum with annual assessments by renowned international dancers.

INDIAN DANCE.
THE STUDENTS WILL BE TRAINED IN THE CLASSICAL, ANCIENT DANCE FORM OF BHARATHA NATYAM.
A COMPREHENSIVE SYLLABUS IS STRUCTURED WHICH LEADS TO AN EXAM AFTER EACH GRADE.
EACH GRADE TAKES 18 MONTHS TO COMPLETE.
DURING THE ADVANCE STAGE, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE LEARNING DANCE PIECES CHOREOGRAPHED BY GREAT COMPOSERS FROM THE 9TH CENTURY TO PRESENT DATE COMPOSITIONS..
AT THIS STAGE, THE MEMORY AND STAMINA OF THE STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE TESTED THROUGH THE EXECUTION OF THE PIECES LEARNED. A GREATER UNDERSTAND AND STUDY OF EMOTING EXPRESSIONS
AND IN DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF EACH DANCE PIECE WILL BE EXPLORED.
STUDENTS WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN THE THEORY SYLLABUS WHICH INVOLVES THE DIFFERENT HAND / HEAD/ NECK AND EYES GESTURES AND THEIR MEANINGS. STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE EXPOSED TO INDIAN LITERATURE THAT REVOLVES AROUND THE DANCE PEDAGOGY
THE CLASS STARTS WILL WARM UPS AND BODY CONTIONING EXERCISES FOR THE FIRST 10 MINS.
FOLLOWED BY THE PRACTICAL LESSONS .
THE LAST 15 MINS, WILL BE COOLING DOWN EXERCISES AND THEORY LESSONS.
THROUGH LEARNING THE ARTFORM, STUDENTS WILL LEARN DISCIPLINE,PERSEVERENCE,TEAM WORK AND
INDIAN CULTURE.
THEY WILL ALSO BE TRAINED IN STAGE PRESENTATION WHEN THEY PRESENT
PERFORMANCES ON STAGE FOR SEVERAL GRASSROOT FUNCTIONS, CULTURAL EVENTS ETC
THE STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE TRAINED TO GUIDE THE JUNIOR DANCERS. IN THE LONG RUN, THESE
STUDENTS WILL ALSO TO BE TRAINED TO BE INSTRUCTORS IN FUTURE.
