Shobhinya Karthikeyan is the Founder and Director of Shobhinya Arts – An Abode of Body, Mind & Soul, nurturing over 100 young artists in traditional Bharathanatyam. A torchbearer of Kalakshetra's style, she serves as a dedicated teacher with Singapore's Ministry of Education schools, creating acclaimed choreography including her championship-winning work for Vasantham Central's Salangai Oli in 2011. Trained under Guru Smt. Ganga Thambi at Kalakshetra, Chennai, she holds an M.F.A in Bharathanatyam from Bharathidasan University. With over 500 performances across prestigious venues in Singapore and India, and as an empanelled Doordarshan artist, she continues her family's artistic legacy while preserving dance in its purest form.

Indian Dance is combination of techniques and movements from various dance styles originating from India. Classical dances of indian include Bharatanatyam and Kathak, which are rich in Indian culture and are taught over many years of intense training. The proposed Indian semi-classical dance aims to incorporate techniques from various style of indian dance, and the basics of classical dance to create a choreography for people to have fun while dancing and also appreciate the Indian dance culture
