Course Description
Learn the basic footwork of Bharata Natyam, one the oldest South Indian classical dance styles from Tamil Nadu. Developed more than 3,000 years ago, this dance form was originally performed in Hindu temples by female dancers and subsequently in the royal courts. Bharata Natyam is known for its rhythmic movement, intricate footwork, artistic posture and the using of hand gestures to tell a story or convey meanings and emotions.
Requirements and Remarks:
Beginner Trainer/ Instructor: Sakthi Fine Arts is a registered academy in Singapore for teaching Bharatanatyam and dedicated to promote art and culture through teaching, artistic collaboration and performances. With the structured learning curriculum, the school gives an opportunity to learn and explore dance and to make this art form an integral part of the ethnic scene and accessible to all the art enthusiasts in the community.
