Course Description

Grid X is a high-energy dance rhythm footwork programme done to upbeat music. Drawing inspiration from Contemporary dance, Hip-Hop, House dance and agility patterns, it builds coordination, musicality, agility and spatial awareness through structured step sequences performed on an X-shaped floor grid. Each class begins with a focused 15-minute warm-up to activate the ankles, strengthen foot articulation and sharpen timing. Participants connect to the beat through simple pulse drills before progressing into clear, layered footwork combinations. Full song sequences are introduced to train musical phrasing, transitions and dynamic accents, helping dancers move with intention and control.

Steps travel forward, backward and diagonally across the grid with strong weight shifts and precise placement. Tempo changes, rhythm variations and directional switches are added to challenge speed, stamina and memory. Partner drills, mirroring exercises and reaction rounds build awareness, adaptability and teamwork while keeping energy high and engaging.
