Course Description

Guitar is one of the most versatile musical instruments that can be played nearly anywhere in the world, be it asia, Africa, Europe or auditorium, school, field, bedroom. One can learn to play a guitar in a short period of time with the help of a guitar instructor. Within 6 to 12 months, you will be able to play or strum your beautiful songs and enjoy the wonderful world of music.

This course will cover the basic structure of guitar and the fundamentals of music to learn to play guitar. Through a systematic approach, students will learn how to play guitar string by string and how to strum guitar chords to accompany singing. Through some familiar melodies, students will be able to apply what they have learnt in the course. This course will be adopting a group instruction approach but differentiation is possible to cater for the process of different learners. Participants are required to purchase from the instructor a course booklet which will cover the full elementary courses.

Requirements and Remarks:

NEW! GUITAR CLASSES AT TOA PAYOH WEST CC! - Number of sessions: 8 - Welcome students of all skills levels, aged 10 and above. - Instruments are not provided. Students to bring own guitar and picks. - All musical materials will be provided digitally. - Fee: $160 (PAssion member) or $170 (non-member) - Strictly no refund or replacement for missed session(s). - All refund requests to be emailed to pa_toapayohwestcc@pa.gov.sg with supporting documents (medical/hospitalisation leave) subject to committee's approval.
