Course Description
Insect farming is a revolutionary way of how we rethink our food waste. By diverting food waste away from landfills and into insect farms, waste can be turned into valuable animal/pet feed as well as fertilisers. Aligned with Singapore's 30 by 30 self-sufficiency efforts, insect farming turns what used to be a linear economy into a circular one with zero-waste sustainability practices.
The workshop starts off with Singapore’s food story, learning about our food waste situation and the difference between pre-consumer waste & consumer waste. Discover how local wholesale centres and supermarkets manages our food behind the scenes.
Participants will be introduced to Insect farming as a form of upcycling. Each participant will get to set up their very own starter kit to bring home as well to reduce their household food waste.
