Eric Poh started learning Erhu at the age of 13 and he holds a Grade 10 (Merit) practical certificate in Erhu. He has a strong passion in Chinese music and had participated in numerous public performances which included performance at the parliament house. He later developed an interest in teaching and had appeared in an interview with AsiaX, a Japanese newspaper based in Singapore to share about his experiences with Erhu.

Erhu is a two-stringed Chinese musical instrument which is played with a bow. It can be used as a solo instrument or,  in a Chinese orchestra where it serves as a violin.  Participants learn the skills of playing this instrument in a small group. They may have the opportunity to join an existing Chinese orchestra at a community centre or club when they have acquired sufficient skills and experience.
