Requirements and Remarks:

Basic class - Material fee of $20 to be paid directly to trainer per term (i.e $10 for every 4 lessons). Children will learn the first sounds. Children usually progress at their own pace and it depends on their ability to remember the sounds They will need to be very proficient in the sounds to go on to the next level. This course is suitable for children from 4 years old onwards. The basic course starts with basic sounds recognition and vocabulary. The basic level is targeting at the children’s attention and focusing skills. The next level will focus on the first sounds and progress on to segmenting and blending to form words. Thereafter, the reading program starts. All reading materials are provided during the lesson. Phonics is crucial for all preschoolers as it teaches them the English language and how they could master the difficult words in writing and speaking. It also prepares them for primary education as they would be able to read fluently and spell difficult words through blending and segmenting and not rote memory.
