Oon Lak Yong is a Chinese Calligraphy enthusiast. He studied under the late Master Liu Pau Kiang for 6 years and thereafter took up Chinese Calligraphy studies in China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China. He also volunteers as a Chinese Calligraphy instructor for Shin Zhong Taijiquan Association, Fei Yue Active Ageing Centre (Hougang Dewcourt), Jalan Kayu Zone 2 RC and Hwi Yoh Community Centre. He won awards twice from the Jill Sackler Chinese Calligraphy contest in 2003 and 2007.

Learn the correct brush handling and writing techniques are emphasised to help participants acquire an understanding of the art of Chinese calligraphy.
