Teh Boon Pin took up Commerical Art at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Industry Training Centre (1983-1986) and a Cartoon Drawing course run by the NUS Extra Mural Studies Department (1984-1989). He also studied Cartoon under Ong Yi from 1979-1993 and Chinese Painting under Lin Lu Zai from 1999 onwards. He has been teaching Children's Art at the PA and RCs for many years.

The course gives children not only an early start in the learning of colours, shapes and lines but also the opportunity to socialise with their peers and get their creative juices flowing. Besides drawing and colouring, they may also explore other art mediums and will be encouraged to talk about their daily life experiences to help them generate more ideas for their drawings.
