Yap Tay Soon graduated from NAFA with a Diploma in Western Art in 1977. He has been teaching Children at Boon Lay Art Centre since 1981. Tay Soon was awarded the PA STARS Trainer Award (Merit) for the Year 2015.

The course gives children not only an early start in the learning of colours, shapes and lines but also the opportunity to socialise with their peers and get their creative juices flowing. Besides drawing and colouring, they may also explore other art mediums and will be encouraged to talk about their daily life experiences to help them generate more ideas for their drawings.
