Tan Siew Khim has a Certificate of Participation for Portrait Drawing (1990) from NAFA and a Certificate in Children's Art from the NUS Extra Mural Studies Department. She has been a kindergarten teacher for 20 years and has been teaching Children's Art at Paya Lebar CC since 1994.

The course gives children not only an early start in the learning of colours, shapes and lines but also the opportunity to socialise with their peers and get their creative juices flowing. Besides drawing and colouring, they may also explore other art mediums and will be encouraged to talk about their daily life experiences to help them generate more ideas for their drawings.
