Course Description
Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to a whole cloth. It is a traditional craft and is famous for its amazing patterns and designs. It is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called tjanting or printing the resist using a copper stamp called cap.
In this class, participants will learn a technique called Wax Scratch. Participants will learn how to create a Batik Effect cloth on paper using Oil Pastels and the etching tools. Each participant will be guided step by step and will choose colours of their choice for both the first and second piece and eventually make patterns on it.
Come on, let’s Design your own Batik with our simple yet distinct technique!
