Course Description

Pre Primary Foundation Ballet is designed for students aged 4 years old. Children who has a year of learning experience in Kinder Tots Ballet may advanced to this class.

Pre Primary Foundation Ballet is a progression from Kinder Tots Ballet where children will be exposed to more challenging ballet movements and steps while it aims to continue to develop the child’s basic movement skills, rhythmic and musical awareness, expression and imaginative movement through music and the use of props such as scarfs and ribbons.

The class is 45-minute where children will get the opportunity to be introduced to learning a wider rage of classical ballet steps in a fun and enjoyable setting. This will be achieved through different dance activities taught in each session where ballet steps are introduced and mastered each time. At the same time, it enhances the children’s confidence and social skills as they learn how to express themselves through music and movement, while socialising with children of similar age group. This class will also start to train the children’s memory by performing a simple sequence of dance steps.

Through participation in appropriate learning activities, children will learn;
- to move with control, coordination and confidence,
- an awareness of their body and how it moves through space,
- demonstrate awareness of positions of the body
- to respond to the different elements of music

Pre Primary Foundation Ballet prepares the children to the next level - Pre Primary Ballet for 5 years old.
