Course Description
Baking made easy is a course to debunk the myth that baking is very tough and time consuming. Certain fundamentals and basics in baking will be explored and demonstrated by using popular bread/cake recipes, and desserts found in cafes, shops and hotels. Possible errors in techniques and methods will be highlighted so that participants can learn about troubleshooting and what to avoid/expect during the baking process. Proper handling and storing of the products will be discussed and reviewed.
Requirements and Remarks:
This is a hands-on class, suitable for those without baking experience, from 12 years old onwards. Participants need to bring own apron, containers and carrier bags for baked products. Ingredient fee of $8 to be paid directly to trainer. Learn to incorporate wholemeal flour in classic bakes for added fibre and minerals. Baking with wholegrains can still produce delicious products with great texture and flavours. Participants will be making a zesty and aromatic orange frangipane tart, as well as a light and refreshing cheese tart. Tart shell and fillings will be made from scratch. Menu: 1.
